I read complaints on fake IRS calls at Callercenter.com and I surprised to see that the earliest posts were dated last year. This just means that this isn't a new scam. It's been around for a while already, however, it's not successfully put to a stop. I'm afraid the penalties against phone scams are not stiff enough.
